Due to the increasing demand for our Radiology services at Sancta Maria Hospital, we have an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time Radiographer to join our small and collaborative Radiography team. We aim toto create a flexible,dynamicand supportive team working towards a blended skill-mix to deliver the highest-quality patient care and experience.
In joining Sancta Maria, you will work in our new state-of-the-art Hospital situated in the SA1 area of Swansea within our purpose built Radiology Department comprising of an MRI suite, Digital X-ray room, and ultrasound. Sancta Maria Hospital use an advanced cloud based PACS network and Hospital Management System for billing and radiology worklists. Rotation between general radiography, theatre/fluoroscopy and MRI is required
We are only private hospital in Swansea offering a wide range of radiology services carried out by a number of our leading consultants. As a not-for-profit organisation, Sancta Maria hospital is passionate about putting the patient first.
The applicant will be flexible and dynamic to meet the requirements of the service. Work pattern can range from 8am-8pm, and occasional Saturday cover is required depending on service demands including an expectation to participate in the radiology standby on call system.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will often work independently and as part of a team throughout the imaging modalities offered at Sancta Maria Hospital, and will have experience and understanding of good service to achieve excellent outcomes and excellent patient experience.
The post holder will demonstrate a mixed-skill set within general radiography and MRI, with the ability to provide high quality imaging and patient care. The post holder will work closely with radiographers and clinical staff of all levels and disciplines to ensure safe and effective work flow whilst complying with IR(ME)R17, IRR17, and MRI safety requirements.
The post holder will contribute to variable daily duties within a small busy imaging department;
- Plain xray imaging (In patients, Out patients, GP) / GE Discovery DR imaging.
- (Routine MRI scanning, Orthopaedic, prostate, gynae and cardiac) GE Signa Artist
- Fluoroscopy (within the radiology department) / GE Flurostar
- Mobile fluoroscopy / GE Flurostar
- General Radiology Administration duties (Hospital System: Commucare. PACS Network: 3d Biotronics).
- Intravenous IV cannulation.

The Radiographer will be accountable to the Radiology Services Manager
Support the Radiology service joining a multi- disciplinary team.
HCPC Registered
BSc/ DCR qualified
Assist in the provision of an efficient Radiology service of the highest standard.
Demonstrate evidence of organizational skills and able to work both autonomously as part of a team.
Have substantial experience in General Radiography and theatre procedures, including Lap Choles, Spinal surgery, Orthopaedics.
Competent with the technical and clinical aspects of Radiology.
Compliance, knowledge and understanding of IRMER regulations, Local Rules and IRR17
Utilise department protocols and set standards to continually undertake X-ray procedures of the highest quality.
Having a knowledge or some experience of MRI would be an advantage.
Communication
Communicate and work closely with Radiologists and consultants in setting up policies and protocols for all Radiology and patient pathways.
Excellent verbal, written interpersonal communication skills.
Communicate effectively with the Multidisciplinary team in order to promote efficient patient care and maintain effective channels of communication both with staff and patients.
To maintain staff morale and contribute through a positive and proactive example in communication and leadership
Liaise with other clinical areas as necessary for the co-ordination of patient care.
Planning & Organising
Adapt organizational and problem-solving skills with patients and service focused approach and strong clinical decision making skills.
Proven experience in people management as well as organizing sessions in Radiology.
Analytical
Identify improvements on an ongoing basis and oversee the implementations of such improvements so agreed with the Supervising Radiographer and Clinical Services Manager.
Good knowledge of current trends and development in Radiology equipment, techniques and advancements
Previous experience of reviewing and standardising protocols
To promote reflective practice and learning in order to ensure that patient care is research based, appropriate and responsive to patients needs.
Quality Governance
To participate in Audits and Quality Assurance programs within the Radiology department, including the use of Audit tools in order to deliver a service.
Attend Radiology Departmental meetings on a regular basis.
Be familiar with the 6 pillars of Clinical Governance.
Tasks Specific Skills
Have experience on GE Digital X-ray equipment, GE preferable.
Adhere with Quality Assurance checks daily.
To ensure equipment in the Radiology department is regularly maintained and where required, repaired or replaced on a timely basis.
