Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Medical Secretary team. You will be working as part of a team providing high quality audio typing for the department.
You will be a conscientious and enthusiastic team player with excellent audio typing skills, good organisational and communication skills with a sound typing background.
You will need to be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of confidentiality issues, be well motivated and reliable.
You will be able to understand and accurately convey verbal and written information and be able to remain calm under pressure.
The ability to manage your time and prioritise your workload whilst remaining patient focused is essential.
You will be responsible for the audio typing of clinical correspondence within specified timescales.
You will need to be a fast and accurate audio typist with knowledge of medical terminology.
You will also be able to prioritise your workload with constantly changing demands to meet agreed deadlines.
You will be able to use your own initiative and respond to queries appropriately.
The role is based working from home but the successful candidate will be expected to include easy and quick access to our hospitals at Ashford, Canterbury and Margate on a small number of occasions as needed and directed.

Job Purpose
To provide Audio Typist Services for Consultants and Practitioners who practice at Spencer Private Hospitals.

Check patient outcomes match the dictation to ensure the Finance Team can bill appropriately
Business Development

To work towards external ISO9001/2015 and ISO1401/2015 accreditation
To participate in interdepartmental SLA reviews on an annual and ad hoc basis

- Provide quality and accurate medical audio typist services to Clinicians at all sites using electronic audio dictation facilities
To work as part of the secretarial team and provide cover for colleagues as and when required across all sites
To ensure that all local and in-house policies and legal requirements relating to clinical care, GDPR and Health and Safety are complied with
To act in a discreet, diplomatic and tactful manner at all times
To ensure that all discharged waiting list patients correspondence is archived and distributed accordingly
Maintaining a medical record system on the inhouse system
To provide a choose and book secretarial service to Consultants
To answer telephone and email enquiries, relay messages and liaise with Consultants, secretaries and departments within the hospital
To provide a discreet, sympathetic and professional patient service
Develop in depth service knowledge of Spencer Private Hospitals and offer information about our services to our clients
Liaise regularly with external service users, ensuring that all contract obligations are met and upheld
