We provide specialist diabetes care to approximately 25,000 people across North East Essex, including clinics for complex diabetes, young people, pre-pregnancy and antenatal care, insulin pump therapy and multidisciplinary foot services. We work closely with community services, lifestyle services, mental health services, pharmacy teams and the ICB. We are a friendly and enthusiastic team committed to patient-centred, safe and high-quality care, and we foster a supportive learning environment with regular CPD, supervision and development opportunities to support evidence-based practice.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 equivalent Specialist Diabetes Clinician to join our integrated, multidisciplinary diabetes team.

This post involves working across specialist community services and primary care, with close links to secondary care. The role includes managing a clinical caseload under appropriate supervision, applying specialist diabetes knowledge (including diabetes technologies), and contributing to the delivery of education for patients, carers and healthcare professionals. This role would suit a motivated and enthusiastic clinician who enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team and is developing confidence in specialist diabetes practice. You will have a minimum 2-years post-registration experience, including some experience in diabetes care gained through a relevant role or study. Experience in supporting education delivery, group facilitation or presentations would be welcomed but is not essential, as training and mentorship will be provided.
