Job summary

  • You will hold a current RGN/RN qualification, and will hold a membership with a professional body.
  • Youll need a minimum of two years working within a clinical environment in a managerial role.
  • You will need proven experience of working in accordance with the NMC code of Conduct, and will need to have a sound understanding of clinical governance.

Contract type:

This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week between the hours of 08:00 18:30.

We are looking for a Nurse in Charge to join our diverse clinical team at Unity Healthcare.

What is the role?

  • You will oversee the nursing team, providing visible clinical leadership to ensure a high standard of general practice nursing is delivered.
  • Youll work collaboratively with the general practice clinical team to meet the needs of the service.
  • Youll ensure that all nursing functions within the practice run smoothly and will provide guidance and support where needed.

Youll join Unity Healthcare in Haverhill which is run by Suffolk GP Federation. We are a not-for-profit, community interest company and our main purpose is to support Primary Care across Suffolk, including support with working collaboratively and at scale. We also deliver a portfolio of NHS services across Suffolk and North East Essex, including Podiatry, Ultrasound, Diabetes, as well as Urgent Care Services including the Out of Hours face-to-face Service in Suffolk.

Be the first point of contact for the nursing team and wider Practice teams for clinical queries/enquiries.

To ensure issues are escalated to and communication maintained with the Non-Medical Lead

To be a role model for the nursing team

Ensure standards across the team are in line with policy and best practice

Responsible for ensuring the quality of nursing staff consultations.

Responsible for adequate ordering of vaccinations and receipt for Nursing use within the Surgery.

Accountable to ensure appointments are resourced for QoF planned care, such as long-term conditions and influenza vaccinations. Other duties & responsibilities
