Job summary
In April 2025, the North Central London Integrated Care Board (NCL ICB), along with the other ICBs in London and in other regions across England will take on responsibilities for a wide range of Specialised Services. This follows on from the successful delegation of Dental, Optometry and Community Pharmacy Services and the fact that some other regions have already taken on delegation from April 2024.
Delegation represents a significant increase in the responsibilities for the ICB and an exciting challenge to join up pathways, improve outcomes and coordinate the management of demand driven by our system clinical strategy for specialised services which is aligned to our overall Population Health & Integrated Care Strategy.
The Clinical Network Coordinator will provide direction to clinical networks, supporting them to ensure network workplans are aligned with ICB objectives, enabling delivery of relevant delegated services networks' objectives through effective planning, coordination, data management, influencing and networking, communications, consultation and administration. This is a role requiring a person capable of building and maintaining strategic partnerships, working in a matrix manner with internal and external partners, including with the Specialised Services Shared Commissioning Team who were previously hosted by NHS England (London Region) and will now be hosted by the NCL ICB on behalf of all London ICBs and NHSE.
Main duties of the job
The Clinical Network Coordinator will:
- Be responsible for monitoring the specialised commissioning clinical network underspend, liaising with the NHSE London team to determine how this is reinvested
- Be a member of the London Commissioning Network Group
- Develop options and recommendations to the ICB on how best to align the London specialised networks to our ICB long term conditions and elective networks as well as the NCL Health Alliance.
- Ensure the specialised clinical networks deliver VFM
- Work with all specialised networks, particularly those hosted by NCL providers to deliver population level improvements.
- Report to the NCL Delegated Services Clinical Reference Group on important updates relating to networks.
