Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint Service Development, Integration, Transformation and Delivery Managers across the Start, Live and Age Well portfolios on a permanent basis within NCL ICB's Strategy and Population Health Directorate.

The roles are ideal for individuals who want to improve health and care services and the outcomes being experienced by residents. You will have both excellent strategic thinking and influencing skills, and the ability to find solutions to complex problems that the NHS is facing.

These roles deliver both borough specific and NCL-wide capacity to drive specific priorities relating to service development. The roles are part of the embedded Service Development resource within the five Borough Integration Units (BIUs) and provides capacity and capability to drive transformation, integration and delivery at place and system level of NCL's Service Development specialisms. The roles focus on Age Well (the delivery of our community core offer, older people's services and Better Care Fund schemes), Live Well (the delivery of our mental health core offer and LDA service development priorities)and Start Well (the delivery of the children's services elements of our community and mental health core offers in line with our Start Well programme).

Main duties of the job

Working to our Assistant Directors for Service Development so that a consistent "core offer" is implemented, the roles also work closely with the Assistant Director for Place Integration, Transformation and Delivery. Senior managers in the BIUs play a key role in shaping service development delivery through place to help co-create the NCL ICB approach to delivery locally, in line with our population health strategy. The post holder will line manage a Service Development: Integration, Transformation and Delivery Lead (B7).

Essential

  • Educated to at least Masters degree level, or equivalent level of working at a senior level in a specialist area
  • Strong understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy in the NHS and London, and awareness of and implications for the portfolio this role supports/ the ICB/ ICS - including an appreciation of the political factors that impact upon decision making.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of transformation and delivery within an area (CYP/CAMHS and/or Mental Health and/or community services)
  • Demonstrable experience in project or programme management, including the utilisation of best practice programme management methodology
  • Extensive experience of relationship building and partnership working (delivering engagement and co -design, involving and empowering range of professionals) with a range of internal/ external stakeholders

Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities

  • Strategic thinking - ability to identify risks, anticipate issues and create solution and to resolve highly complex problems in relation to project or service delivery.
  • Confident analysing complex facts and situations (e.g. contracts, data) and develop a range of options, resulting in informed recommendation(s) for decisions)
  • Highly developed interpersonal, oral and written communication; able to prepare and deliver nuanced communications to a range of stakeholders (professions/ grades/ seniority) both internal and external.
