Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join NCL ICB as a Clinical Safety Officer working with in Digital Directorate. We are implementing several national and local digital initiatives to assist clinical workflows and pathways for patients in North Central London. The Operational Clinical Safety officer is required to support the Strategic Clinical Safety Officer to implement clinical risk activities as part of the DCB 0160 process for all new existing implementations.

Main duties of the job

The Operational Clinical Safety Officer will be a clinician responsible to the NCL Digital Programme to identify, plan and lead clinical safety activities by working collaboratively with colleagues and system partners to:

  • Promote the Clinical Safety Management System in relation to current and emerging requirements of the NCL Digital Programme.
  • Lead the implementation of Clinical Safety Case for new and existing digital implementations.
  • Providing reasonable oversight of key tasks
  • Providing regular progress reports to ensure proposed IT deployments are managed in accordance with the Clinical Safety Management System.
  • Manage the clinical safety functions of the digital programme in line with the nationally mandated information standard. (DCB 0160)
  • Sign off digital developments prior to implementation.
  • To provide clinical assurance on safety of digital health applications and IT systems for North Central London.
  • Raising any unacceptable risks with Management
