Job summary

The primary aim of the Children and Young People's Partner- Physical Health is to support the BSW Head of Children and Young People to lead the delivery of multiple complex projects in the transformation of Children's Services across BSW.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will support the BSW Head of Children and Young People and their team to ensure that their workstream of programmes are planned and managed effectively and take the lead in assisting in their successful delivery, of the national, regional and BSW priorities for children and young people.
  • The post holder will support the CYP Strategic Delivery Lead and work jointly with key partners including our local authorities and providers to discharge the responsibilities for ICBs in relation to CYP, and to jointly support system partners to be able to discharge their responsibilities as appropriate, including:

o SEND Programmes

o Links to Safety Valve Programmes

o CYP Locality hubs

o Parent Carer Forum interface

o Strategic commissioning interface

The Post holder will lead on the Physical Health for CYP across the following areas:o Provide CYP input as necessary to Urgent Care including AcuteRespiratory hubs, virtual Wardso Provide CYP input as necessary to CYP Palliative Care workstreamso Paediatric pathway improvement leado CYP primary careo Strategic commissioning interface in universal and specialist areas,bladder, bowel and eating disorders. Provide specialist commissioning support as required into the weekly BSW practiceforum provide specialist advice to support ICBC process and then the delivery ofcommunity provision The post holder will be required to lead on the development, implementation,delivery and evaluation of specific projects detailed within BSWs annual OperatingPlan and 5-year Strategic Plan, particularly in relation to Children and YoungPeoples Physical Health. Liaise with appropriate functions within BSW system and place and the Children andFamilies Sector including schools, public health, BaNES, Swindon Borough andWiltshire Council and the voluntary sector partners Manage all corporate and business returns, including returns to NHSE andgovernance groups and relevant committees The post holder lead on this work building close relationships with clinical leaders,acute, primary care, community and mental health organisations, other ICBs,commissioners, Commissioning Support Units, Local Authorities, VoluntaryOrganisations and the Third Sector and patients to develop service strategy andservice design.The above is only an outline of the tasks, responsibilities and outcomes required of the role. Knowledge, Training and Experience

Essential

  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
  • Minimum experience of 3 years in service improvement and or business development management experience within the NHS. Social Care or Voluntary Organisations.
  • Significant experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Demonstrated experience of coordinating projects in complex and challenging environments ( including team work, influencing, conflict management and project management)
  • Experience of managing risks and reporting
  • Experience of developing children's services, commissioning strategies, service specifications, clinical pathways for services as appropriate.
  • Experience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence at Senior Management Level
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project principles, techniques and tools, such as Prince 2 Foundation and Microsoft Project
  • Experience and understanding of the Contractual Process.
  • Can demonstrate evidence of setting and achieving ambitious targets.

  • Ability to prepare and produce concise yet insightful communications for dissemination to senior stakeholders and a broad range of stakeholders as required
