Job summary
NHS Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) Integrated Care Board (ICB) are looking to secure a Named GP for Safeguarding Children.
BSW ICB is a leading organisation that is forward thinking and innovative with a focus on Safeguarding Improvement. The ideal candidate will have experience of safeguarding children at practice level and be passionate about making a difference and improving outcomes for children with safeguarding concerns and will need to be able to provide Safeguarding Children leadership across Primary Care in Wiltshire, the ICB and Safeguarding Partnership. The candidate should also be working in clinical practice. This role will support Primary Care and commissioned providers to meet their statutory duties and responsibilities in relation to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will work closely with the Designated Nurse for Safeguarding in BSW ICB and be part of an enthusiastic, friendly, and dedicated safeguarding team based within the Wiltshire locality. You will be supported in your development into this role The nature of this role involves working with a range of stakeholders to support the best outcomes for children who need safeguarding, along with supporting the effective application of local, regional, and national safeguarding children's policies and procedures.
This includes providing leadership and expertise from a primary care health system perspective to enable the BSW ICB and the wider health system to improve our safeguarding children practice, this will also include providing health safeguarding expertise to the Wiltshire Safeguarding Partnership and its sub-groups.

- Evidence of continuing professional development, which demonstrates the theory and practice to operate at a senior level within Children's Safeguarding.
- Experienced qualified GP with current GMC registration
- Have experience of the legislation relating to safeguarding children

- Significant evidence of continued professional development including a minimum of Level 4 safeguarding training
- Member of a relevant professional body
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding legislation, process and procedures to include Mental Capacity Act
