Are you passionate about improving peoples health and making a
difference? We have an exciting opportunity for up to 3 highly numerate and
meticulous analysts to join the Population Health Intelligence team at Humber
& North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board, delivering analysis and insights
using a range of health data and undertaking a level 7 Health & Care
Intelligence Specialist apprenticeship. Your analytical insights will support
decision-making that contributes to improved service delivery and better health
outcomes. These posts will work with system partners in Humber & North
Yorkshire, notably 6 local authorities, with a focus on our priorities to
improve healthy life expectancy. You will be self-motivated, have attention to
detail and excellent analytical skills. You will develop bespoke outputs in a
range of formats (dashboards, slide decks and written reports), providing
accessible interpretation of data. Previous knowledge of healthcare or public
health is essential.
Main duties of the job
This role provides on-the-job training for
analysts who would like to progress their career into more senior posts. You will learn new skills through the
apprenticeship; be able to complete intensive, modular learning; and translate
learning into the workplace. You will:
apply analytical

About us
NHS Humber & North
Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) is responsible for planning NHS services
to meet the health needs of 1.7 million people. Offices are in central York and
on the edge of Hull, with York being very well connected by train in all
directions, and hybrid working available. Both sites offer modern, open plan
working.
The Population Health
Intelligence team works with closely with business intelligence colleagues and
the Population Health and Prevention team. These roles would suit an analyst
seeking to develop their career in population/public health intelligence within
a supportive team. There are opportunities to work with partners and to develop
intelligence support for Neighbourhood Health Services.

The post-holder will be part
of the Data, Business Intelligence and Population Health Intelligence team
within the Humber & North Yorkshire ICB. The intelligence team is
responsible for the provision of a comprehensive Data, Business Intelligence
and Population Health Intelligence and analytical service to support the
organisation to understand itself, health services delivered within the wider
system, and the needs of the population.
The role involves the use of
complex information systems and associated datasets, being capable of
processing large volumes of patient-based and summary health data to improve
health, with a focus on supporting population health intelligence, strategic planning
and performance improvement for the Integrated Care Board and key system
partners.
The post holder will undertake
a level 7 Health
and Care Intelligence Specialist apprenticeship
(masters degree level) and 20% of work time is available to complete the
apprenticeship (additional study in own time may be required). This is being delivered by JGA and you will
be part of a national cohort of apprentices on this course.
The Population Health Analyst
will be responsible for delivering insight into services run within the
Integrated Care System (ICS), allowing for a greater level of intelligence-led
decision-making for the ICB and system partners. The role involves understanding and
delivering analysis for Population Health Management, supporting the Associate
Director for Population Health Intelligence Specialist to work with
organisations to help them to understand their data, collaborating with
analytical and operational teams within Humber & North Yorkshire for the
purpose of improving health outcomes and service delivery.
Core Responsibilities Include:
Working
collaboratively with Population Health Intelligence staff and key business
partners to understand the problems which data is needed to solve, and to
support effective use of analytical outputs and intelligence to help inform
decision making, with an emphasis on neighbourhood teams.
Coordination
and delivery of analytical solutions, from self-serve reporting to in-depth
analysis allowing for a greater understanding of services.
Completing
the level 7 Health and Care Intelligence Specialist apprenticeship and bringing
learning into day-to-day work.
Ensuring
a high level of information governance and confidentiality is always in mind in
the creation of reporting.
