Job summary
This role is fixed term for a period of three years. The role will be offered to NHS applicants on a secondment basis only. Agreement should be obtained from their line manager prior to them submitting an application.
The role is full time over 5 days (including 20% protected time for apprenticeship for 2 years)
This is an exciting
opportunity for an early career analyst to join the Population Health
Intelligence team in a post with a level 7 apprenticeship attached. You will use
complex information systems and data sets, processing data to improve health, with
a focus on population health intelligence, strategic planning and performance
improvement for the ICB and system partners, particularly local authority
public health teams. The role involves understanding, defining and delivering
analysis for many subject areas; helping organisations to understand their data;
and collaborating with teams from across Humber & North Yorkshire to improve
health delivery and citizen outcomes.
You will be part of a national
cohort of 20 apprentices. Learning is delivered remotely and you will bring
that learning into the workplace, providing innovative solutions for analytical
tasks. You will be supported with
work-based tasks to help you achieve the knowledge, skills and behaviours being
assessed.
Main duties of the job
This role provides on-the-job training
for junior analysts who would like to progress their career into more senior
posts. You will have a desire to learn
new skills through the level 7 apprenticeship, have the ability to complete
intensive, modular learning and be practically minded, translating that learning
to opportunities in the workplace.
You will have excellent
numerical and analytical skills, with attention to detail so you can work with
partners to understand problems which data is needed to solve and provide insight
through written reports and presentations.
You will have opportunity to
develop leadership skills and begin to lead projects, allocating tasks to team
members.
This post requires a
good understanding of information governance and maintaining confidentiality in
an analytical service.

The post-holder will be part of the Data,
Business Intelligence and Population Health Intelligence team within the Humber
and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB), which is responsible for the
provision of a comprehensive data, business intelligence, population health intelligence

services delivered within the wider system, and population health needs.
The role involves the use of complex
information systems and associated datasets, capable of processing large
volumes of patient-based and summary health data to improve health, with a
focus on supporting population health intelligence, strategic planning and performance
improvement for the ICB and key system partners,
particularly local authority public health teams.
The post holder will undertake a level 7 Health
and Care Intelligence Specialist apprenticeship (masters degree level) and
20% of work time is available to complete the apprenticeship. This is being delivered by JGA and you will
be part of a national cohort of between 20 and 30 apprentices on this course. The apprenticeship is designed for junior
professionals who study the health of populations, plan, commission, manage,
deliver, monitor and evaluate health and social care policies and services.

Specialist will be responsible for delivering insight into services run within the
Integrated Care System (ICS), allowing for a greater level of intelligence-led
decision-making. The role involves
understanding and delivering analysis for relevant subject areas, supporting the

with analytical and operational teams from across the system for the purpose of
