As a Dental Programme Lead, you will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service working with colleagues from across 3 ICB areas and providing the lead for the Y&H staff team at an exciting and developing time for dental services.

The post is responsible for providing professional expertise, defining current processes, facilitating discussions, and advising colleagues on how best practice might be adopted.

Developing effective working relationships between contracting, commissioning, information governance, performance management, service development and clinical governance is key to ensure that the implications of commissioning decisions are appropriately reflected. The post holder will lead on the development of service specifications and contribute to the development and redesign of care pathways and procuring services to ensure services commissioned provide quality and value for money.

Main duties of the job

Expected to form and maintain a wide range of executive and professional relationships with members of relevant Boards, the ICB and Provider Collaboratives.

Deploy a high-level of personal communication skills to persuade encourage and motivate staff and stakeholders in the pursuit of better outcomes for local populations through a joint approach to delivery.

Employ effective communication, negotiation and influencing skills to enable an effective change management with stakeholders at all levels who may hold differing and contentious views.

As a senior lead working internally and externally to deliver projects, initiatives and services to time and in a cost effective way.

To support the identification and sharing of best practice in dentistry to support service improvement.

Provide specialist advice and prepare strategic reports and briefings for directors and stakeholders.

In depth analysis, interpretation and production of complex and multiple reports.

About us

The Yorkshire and Humber (Y&H) Dental Commissioning Team is hosted by Humber and North Yorkshire (HNY) Integrated Care Board (ICB) but works across the 3 ICB areas of HNY, South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire.

Through a hybrid working environment of both home-working and in-office days, you will work with like-minded individuals who are keen to improve access to dental services and to improve health outcomes of those living across Y&H. It is a hard-working and busy team, with many competing priorities, but very rewarding and fast-paced, with plenty of opportunity to learn from others and develop your skills. This role offers a unique opportunity to join a relatively new team, to help shape services and to deliver on emerging national priorities for dental services.
