Job summary
The
role of Senior Project Support Officer is to provide robust project support
to the Awareness and Early Diagnosis Programme and the post holder will be
required to specifically ensure the cancer champions project within the
programme is transitioned to a full train the trainer model, to take the
project from the pilot phase to business as usual. The post holder will be
responsible for the successful delivery of this transition, ensuring it is
delivered on budget and on time.
The
Humber and North Yorkshire Cancer Alliance is looking for an experienced and
skilled Project Support Officer to take on this role, were looking for an
authentic and self-motivated individual with a proven track record of
successful project support who is looking for an opportunity to develop their
skills and take on project management. This project forms part of the Awareness
and Early Diagnosis programme which focusses on the embedding of cancer
awareness in our communities and with our primary care partners, with a view
to supporting the earlier diagnosis of cancer through timely presentation and
early referral into suspected cancer pathways. This programme seeks to
empower our communities and patients to recognise and raise concerning
symptoms and present sooner to their GP and to empower GPs to refer patients
earlier using the correct diagnostic tests and the most appropriate suspected
cancer pathways.
Main duties of the job
The Project Support Officer role is an exciting opportunity to shape cancer services within Humber and North Yorkshire, working collaboratively with provider, patient, and public stakeholders, addressing health inequalities, and driving workforce and digital innovation to design and deliver sustainable cancer services for the future.

The main duties of the role
are:
To manage the Cancer Champions project to
transition to a full train the trainer model
Provide project support to the Project Delivery
Manager and Programme Lead of the Awareness and Early Diagnosis Programme
Ensure the project has robust plans and
supporting documentation
To deliver effective project governance, escalating
and mitigating risk where required
Deliver project budgetary control and reporting
via the programme governance structure
About us
