We are excited to offer this opportunity to join our growing
Data Management Services team at Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board as a
Data Engineer. This post sits within the Data Management Services team, a sub
team of the larger Business Intelligence team, and will be reporting to the
Deputy Data Services Manager.

Engineer who will play a vital role in building and optimizing data
systems, designing scalable pipelines, and delivering clean, reliable data to
fuel our analytics and machine learning projects.
As a Data Engineer
on our team, youll work alongside data scientists, analysts, and other
engineers, creating and maintaining a data infrastructure that transforms raw
data into actionable insights. From optimizing ETL processes to implementing
data quality checks, youll be the backbone of our data architecture, ensuring
our systems are robust, secure, and ready to support our organisation.
Main duties of the job
Build
& Optimize: Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines
and ETL processes to transform raw data into powerful insights.
Innovate
& Automate: Create and implement scalable systems to support data
flow from multiple sources, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
Collaborate
& Elevate: Work alongside data analysts and engineers to deliver
customized data solutions that inform decision making across the NHS
Gloucestershire system.
Monitor
& Assure Quality: Ensure data integrity with rigorous testing,
validation, and monitoring practices that keep our data clean and
trustworthy.

- Experience using relevant software including SQL, SSIS, and Power BI.

- Understanding of the importance of data quality and the ability to resolve issues.
- Experience of liaising with staff at all levels and being confident in working through organisation corporate issues where information is of influence.
