Job summary

An opportunity has arisen to take on an exciting role within our Suffolk and North East Essex ICB Children and Young Person's Team supporting the delivery of the CYP programmes. We are looking for an exceptional candidate that has the passion and commitment to join the team and support the delivery of our vision across the system focusing and supporting a number of assigned projects within the ICB.

In order to deliver this vision and fulfil values we need a workforce who will directly contribute to the CYP System, who will lead by example, listen and be resilient and confident whilst striving to improve the services for the population of the ICB.

The role is pivotal to supporting the Delivery and Commissioning functions for the ICB. We are looking for candidates with excellent communication skills and previous experience in commissioning healthcare services would be ideal. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of a culture of bold innovation. They will work with partners and providers to ensure a dynamic and responsive health economy.

This post will primarily focus on the delivery of change for mental health services for children and young people, specifically the implementation of a new crisis model as well as working with system partners around wider mental health transformation.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide project leadership for specified service Transformation projects for the CYP.
  • Through excellent project management ensure that service Transformation programmes of work within the CYP are well organised, disciplined and deliver on time.
  • To work closely and supportively with the relevant Deputy Director of Transformation or Clinical Strategy and wider team members across other parts of the ICS.
  • To drive and contribute to innovation work supportively with other service Transformation staff.
  • Ensure that projects are delivered utilising change management theory, ensuring the ability to rapidly deliver and implement change.
  • Promote close and constructive working relationships with the shared ICS functions.
  • Network and Benchmarking to adopt national and regional best practices within commissioning and new service developments.
  • Aligned working with ICB colleagues and local authorities where appropriate for specific service developments.
  • To ensure that any new systems or processes put in place result in an improved patient experience and easier access for patients with more certainty about when they will be assessed and/or treated within the Health Economy.
  • To identify, investigate and resolve any problems that occur and liaise with those involved e.g. GP Practices, provider services.

About us

The NHS Suffolk and North-East Essex Integrated Care Board (ICB) plans and buys healthcare services for our population. This function is commonly referred to as commissioning. To do this, we work within a budget of around £1.5 billion, which is set by NHS England, and work closely with local government and the NHS providers in our area. Our performance is judged by how well our local health and care system as a whole is working, including the health outcomes of our communities.

The ICB has delegated some authority to the three health and wellbeing alliances that operate in Suffolk and North-East Essex to act on its behalf. This is to ensure that the needs of smaller, local areas are addressed.
