Are you a registered Pharmacy Technician looking to develop
your career? We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Pharmacy
Technician to join our friendly and innovative team. Ideally you would be full-time
but part-time would be considered for the right candidate. Prior experience
within this sector of pharmacy is preferred but not essential as you will be
provided with close peer support and professional development.
We are a multidisciplinary team and we pride ourselves on
our commitment to supporting the professional growth and development of every
team member. We adopt a flexible approach to working patterns, offering a mix
of practice-based, remote and office working to empower team members to
optimise their performance and deliver.
We promote high quality, safe and cost-effective prescribing.
The role sits specifically within the Medicines Optimisation team for the North
East Essex Alliance and we keep a close working relationship with the teams in
our Suffolk Alliances. It is essential you have access to an appropriate means
of transport to travel independently and regularly across the geographical area
of Suffolk and North East Essex and potentially further beyond.
There is no requirement for weekend, bank holiday or evening
working. We also welcome applications for part-time working.
Main duties of the job
Have knowledge and understanding of the ICB Cost Improvement Programme (CIP) and support its implementation at practice level.
Participate in the delivery of one or more CIP projects.
Have knowledge of guidelines and policies developed in response to NICE or NHS England publications and directives such as new/revised clinical guidelines, low priority prescribing and self-care and support their implementation at practice level.
Assist in the dissemination of information and advice to GP practices, care home staff and provider organisations regarding all aspects of medicines and prescribing.
Build professional, trusted relationships with practice and PCN teams to ensure effective communication on issues relating to prescribing and population health needs.
Deliver education and training to a range of clinicians, including GPs, nurses, and pharmacists.
Analyse practice prescribing data from a variety of sources to identify key areas for improvement in safety, quality, and cost-effective prescribing. The post-holder will require excellent communication and influencing skills to challenge prescribing practice, whilst building ongoing and trusted relationships with practice staff. This may require significant mental effort.
Provide support and information to practice and PCN teams in response to prescribing queries at a practice level.
About us
The Government has recently announced it is looking to
make some significant changes to the NHS structure in England. This will have
an impact on the ICB, but we are unclear at this stage on what that impact will
be. Unfortunately, at this moment in time we cannot give any guarantees that
this position will not be affected by the news. Any proposed changes will be
subject to full consultation with staff and their representatives and will
follow management of change guidelines as stipulated by ICB Policy and NHS
Agenda for Change terms and conditions.
The NHS Suffolk and North East Essex ICB plan and buy healthcare services for over one million people. Working within a total budget of £1.5bn per year, we serve some of the poorest and wealthiest communities in the UK.
In addition to consolidating our own resources and expertise, we are also building powerful alliances with our partners in the local government, healthcare, community and voluntary sectors. Because we know that together, we can achieve the best possible health outcomes
We are committed to providing a supportive work environment where employees are able to work to the best their abilities. We value professional development and care about health and wellbeing of our staff with many initiatives in place to make us an employer of choice and an organisation that employees are proud to be part of.
