We are seeking a dynamic
and strategic Head of Medical Directorate Operations to lead the operations of
our Medical Directorate, driving clinical transformation and delivering
high-quality, person-centred care across our Integrated Care System (ICS). This
pivotal role combines operational excellence with innovation, ensuring the
effective delivery of the ICS Personalised Care Programme and fostering
collaboration across the Transformation Directorate, Alliance teams, and the
Integrated Care Partnership (ICP).
We are looking
for the Head of Medical Directorate Operations, 1.0 WTE, Fixed-term Until
September 2025.

Main duties of the job
- In-depth professional knowledge in financial management, performance management, information systems, staff management, quality improvement acquired through training and experience over extended period.
- Responsible for strategic and operational management for a major area of activity, for example, an operational or geographical division or specialist management unit
- Responsible for compiling business plan, developing strategy for area of activity, ensuring implementation and that performance targets, strategic objectives are met; contributes to corporate policies and strategy.
- Responsible for staff and budgetary management.
- Budget holder; budget setting for several services
- Holds budgets for medical directorate; monitors budgets, responsible for overall budget setting for medical directorate
About us
The NHS Suffolk and North-East Essex Integrated Care Board
(ICB) plans and buys healthcare services for our population. This function is
commonly referred to as commissioning.
To do this, we work within a budget of around
£1.5 billion, which is set by NHS England, and work closely with local
government and the NHS providers in our area. Our performance is judged by how
well our local health and care system as a whole is working, including the
health outcomes of our communities.
The ICB has delegated some authority to the three
health and wellbeing alliances that operate in Suffolk and North-East Essex to
act on its behalf. This is to ensure that the needs of smaller, local areas are
addressed.
The ICB remains accountable for all of its functions, including
those it has delegated.
Local residents have a big role to play in the
operation of the ICB. We rely on the experiences and perspectives of our
