Job summary

This is a great opportunity to join our finance team in a key role for the system, leading the ICB Contract Finance team and coordinating system financial planning and reporting.

We plan and buy healthcare services for over one million people. Working within a total budget of £2bn per year, we serve some of the poorest and wealthiest communities in the UK. This is an exciting time to join us as we continue to build on the progress we have already made since the establishment of the ICB alongside our partners in local government, healthcare, community, and voluntary sectors to achieve the best possible health outcomes.

This rewarding role presents a unique opportunity to help to build a strong, exciting, and more sustainable future for services we provide to the most vulnerable people in society.

We are committed to providing a supportive work environment where employees can work to the best of their abilities. We value professional development and care about health and wellbeing of our staff with many initiatives in place to make us an employer of choice and an organisation that employees are proud to be part of.

Please note, due to the ongoing cost reduction programme and restructure underway at SNEE ICB (due to end in Summer 2024), prior consideration for this role may be given to existing staff who are affected by this programme and this role may be removed from the recruitment process at any time.

Main duties of the job

  • Manage and, where appropriate, lead on contract negotiations across a range of high value, complex contracts and be responsible for the development of detailed finance plans and contract monitoring.
  • Lead on the development and implementation of innovative contracting processes, maximising opportunities for efficiency across all financial reporting, financial modelling, and outcome-based measures for contracts.
  • Support and co-ordinate the work of the ICS Directors of Finance group, this will include developing financial models, plans, returns and reports.
  • Have expert analytical, judgement and presentation skills, as well as the ability to make and influence key decisions at a senior level.
