Mid South Essex Integrated Care Board is looking for a commited and motivated Oral Health Programme Co-ordinator to join our existing Early Years Oral Health Team. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the oral health of children in Mid and South Essex.
This crucial role will work with system partners to implement the learning and benefits of the Thurrock Early Years Oral Health Programme across the Mid South Essex area.
Working from home, Basildon office and across mid and south Essex.
Hours - Predominantly 9am - 5pm, but occasional evening and / or weekend working may be required.
Main duties of the job
This role will include delivering educational oral health workshops directly to parents, carers and children, as well as supporting the Train the Trainer programme to upskill professionals from a variety of organisations to deliver oral health messaging and advice to children and families across the Mid & South Essex area.
You will also be responsible for ensuring the distribution of resources required by system partners to complement the training provided. This role will also include collecting data and assisting in the production of reports to provide evidence of the effectiveness of the programme.
This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt communication styles and techniques to meet the needs of the intended audience.

Using the CORE20 PLUS5 framework, the priority PLUS groups(SEND, LAC, deprivation, refugees, asylum seekers and migrants) to deliver targetedpreventative actions.
Thurrock has areas of significant deprivation within the borough, where more than 1 in 5children under 16 grow up in poverty (21.2%). 6% of children in parts of Grays are living inpoverty, and 56.4% of children in parts of Tilbury are living in poverty.
These factors impact the health and wellbeing of families and Thurrock has the highestincidence of admissions to hospital for dental extractions in children and young peopleand the lowest rates of dental access for 017-year-olds, with the highest prevalence of dentaldecay in 5-year-olds in East of England Region.
This role will co-ordinate the operational activities on the two-year programme which will focuson supervised tooth brushing through the Family Hubs and across education. The target agegroup for this programme is pre-school and reception to year 3, through 10 programmes ofactivity (these programmes to be run simultaneously).
The aim of the programme is to accelerate areas for improvement in reducing oral healthinequalities across MSE, focussing on activities in Thurrock and ensuring that the benefits andlearning are embedded across Mid & South Essex ICS footprint.
Identify opportunities to implement oral health prevention strategies into current children &young people workstreams and work with ICB teams and stakeholder partners to increaseaccess to dental services.
The role will sit within the Thurrock Alliance Team and will report to the Early Years Oral healthProgramme Support Manager.

- Assist with the delivery of programme plans and workstreams, as directed by line manager and raising any issues with delivery to line manager

- Co-ordination of a complex series of planned activities, ensuring that delivery remains on track and within agreed timescales.
- Build effective and sustainable working relationships with a broad range of system partners within the Thurrock area.
