We have an exciting opportunity for a UEC System Improvement Manager to join a team supporting system flow and urgent emergency care improvement.
The post holder will support the Senior UEC Improvement & Transformation Manager in the commissioning, transformation, improvement and redesign, to undertake a range of key duties to support the effective delivery of the UEC , specifically regarding:
- Complex Discharge Pathways
- All associated services that impact how patients are effectively discharged from hospital.
- Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC) pathways
- System Flow
Main duties of the job
You will have responsibility for supporting the ICB/ICS in delivering the key strategic priorities for the transformation of UEC and putting the processes required for excellence in place.
The role will support the overall UEC team, in terms of also providing management support to system resilience as required.
The role will in particular focus on admissions avoidance schemes and discharge pathways to support urgent care.
The post holder will be required to operate effectively in a flexible and demanding environment and proactively engage with NHS staff, consultants and contractors working on various topics including national programmes.
You will need skills in stakeholder management, prioritisation and adapting to a highly pressured and dynamic environment.
The main duties of the post holder will be to:
- Develop commissioning intentions and a programme of redesign / review of services
- Build relationships with service providers
- Monitor and analyse service performance
- Lead redesign projects and commissioning meetings
- Provide support for system resilience management
- Ensure excellent internal and excellent communication
- Responding to requests from NHS England
