This role is central to the successful delivery of the objectives of the Birmingham & Solihull) (Bsol) Integrated Care System (ICS), as an executive director of the Integrated Care Board (ICB) reporting to the Chief Executive.
The post holder is responsible for leading the ICS delivery unit, the purpose of which is to provide scrutiny and support the delivery of both national and local priorities.
Health and care is most successfully delivered as a team endeavour. To be successful the post holder must be able to work across a number of key teams. The ICB executive team, working closely and positively with local providers and other stakeholders (e.g., local government), and colleagues in NHS England (NHSE).
The role is outward facing and is high profile with the post-holder being required to engage at local, regional, and national levels.
Main duties of the job
In line with the organisational design principles of the ICB the post holder will lead a 'lean' team organised around:
- The production of performance data both to enable regular improvement discussions with partners but also to identify trends and linking into the quality improvement approach being developed across the local health and care economy.
- Regular engagement with providers and other key stakeholders through the System Oversight Group (SOG). This is based on bringing the system together developing collaboration and promoting distributed leadership.
- Running the systems co-ordination centre.
- Leading the system oversight framework.
- Developing the key annual operational plans including the system winter plan.
In addition, the post-holder is responsible for developing and leading the system digital strategy ensuring that the digital initiatives support and leverage benefit for patients and staff.
