Medicine Management Technician - Halton Place NHS Cheshire and Merseyside
Band 5
15 hours (0.4WTE) - Part time
We have an exciting opportunity for a Medicines Management Technician to join the Halton Medicines Management Team.
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of the medicines management technician work plan across GP practices within Halton. This includes the provision of specialist advice, promoting the safe handling and administration of medicines, education and training.
This role will directly support the Senior Technician and Senior Medicines Optimisation Lead with regards to high quality, evidence-based, cost-effective and safe use of medicines across Halton.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will support delivery of the Medicines Optimisation work plan and undertake medicine management projects in GP practices alongside a team of Pharmacists and Technicians.
The role will support and promote efficient and safe working processes in GP practices, to optimise the quality of acute and long-term prescribing for patients and make more efficient use of practice resources. The post holder will also support GP practices in providing safe and efficient repeat prescribing systems that reduce waste, improve efficiencies and help patients get the most from their medicines.
You should demonstrate excellent clinical skills and must be computer literate. You must be organised, be able to work independently and also be an excellent team player.
