Job summary
The Director of Quality supports the ICB Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to ensure the ICS meets its statutory and regulatory requirements in relation to quality and patient safety, safeguarding and, will be responsible for the development and delivery of the SEL ICS Quality Strategy and the Quality Priorities annual work plan and associated assurance and performance frameworks.
The post holder will provide credible, effective, visible, and professional leadership to members of the Executive Management Team, borough Place Executive Leads their teams, and partnerships across the ICS as required, liaising with the Planning directorate of the ICB and Assurance to ensure quality is embedded across the ICS.
The role has a strong interface across the place (s) and SEL ICB Quality, Safety, Safeguarding and professional leadership teams and is key to developing and delivering quality assurance and improvement. This requires high calibre leadership and initiative to support commissioners, providers and place-based care systems to deliver and commission high quality care in line with the requirements of the Long-Term Plan, priorities identified by local and regional teams and through national accountability and assurance frameworks.
Main duties of the job
The role requires a commitment to working as part of an effective team sharing corporate responsibility for setting strategy, establishing policy and leading decision making across the place and wider ICB footprint, working closely with all providers of healthcare.
The post holder will be expected to use their expert knowledge of quality care, improvement, patient safety and safeguarding, combined with a good knowledge of health and social care integration to work in collaboration with relevant system partners. The post-holder will provide robust assurance on their areas of responsibility to the ICB CNO
