Job summary

The digital team in the ICS has an exciting, opportunity for a Primary Care CCIO. The SEL ICB Primary Care Chief Clinical Information Officer will provide expert and pragmatic advice, leadership, and management necessary to support the safe and efficient design, implementation, and use of clinical digital systems to deliver improvements to the quality of care and patient outcomes. This includes providing expert clinical information advice and guidance; working collaboratively with others to ensure patient and clinical involvement in the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of systems and services; and championing the use of digital systems as an enabler of change and quality improvement.

This role will provide strategic direction and clinical leadership on the design, implementation, and use of digital solutions to ensure quality improvements and the delivery of high-quality primary care services and opportunities across the wider care system for improved patient experience and efficiency.

Main duties of the job

1. Provide strategic level primary care advice and guidance

2. Promote innovation and champion the development of a digital culture as an enabler of change and quality improvement and drive continuous clinical process improvement

3. Contribute to the development and implementation of the Digital Strategy and Joint Forward Plan for SEL and ensure proposed digital solutions support primary care requirements and transformation first and foremost.

4. Represent SEL, as and when required, at local, regional, and national meetings including Chairing the Primary Care Digital Programme Board and participate in the ICB Digital Board.

5. Be the SRO for primary care programme/s of SEL ICB.

6. Manage a team of CCPLs in the Digital team and support collaboration with CCPLs and other key stakeholders

7. Determine and advise the senior management/ executive team on implications of national and local informatics policy/strategy development from a primary care perspective.

8. Be responsible for the assessment of potential risks from digital solutions .

9. Facilitate collaboration, consultation and engagement with primary care stakeholders in the design, delivery, and evaluation of digital systems.

10. Be the Clinical Safety Officer for digital solutions, and lead the development, implementation and continuation of a Clinical Safety Officer community of practice for South East London.
