Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of a forward thinking and engaging information governance team. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about information governance compliance and has detailed knowledge of Data Protection legislation and extensive experience in large-scale implementations or projects involving significant information governance components as well as a passion for adult social care. The post will be for a 12 month fixed term contract from the start date of the post.

The post holder will work as part of the SEL ICB Information Governance Team and will be responsible for working with the CQC registered adult social care providers in South East London (care homes and domiciliary care) to implement an IG Framework and appropriate Data Protection documentation for the adoption of a Digital Social Care Record (DSCR) by March 2024. The post holder will also be required to provide operational advice and support to a number of designated stakeholders and work to build strong relationships with IG colleagues across the ICS.

The role is based at the South East London ICB offices in Tooley Street, with home working and travel across the South East London area as required. It is expected that the post holder will attend the central offices once a week with the Information Governance team.

Main duties of the job

As the Information Governance Manager for Adult Social Care, the post holder will be responsible for the delivery of an information governance assurance model, the development and delivery of standardised tools, operational support and advice to a number of designated stakeholders to the standard required by the relevant contract or service level agreement.

To develop, lead and co-ordinate a program of evidence gathering, assessment and audit, this includes the management of assurance, evidence and audit of significant providers of services. This comprises the escalation of issues of quality, risk and management through the appropriate channels and in conjunction with the Strategic Information Governance Lead. This role supports compliance with the following legislation:

  • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR EU & UK GDPR);
  • The Data Protection Act 2018;
  • The Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOI(A));
  • Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIR); and,
  • Re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations 2015 (RPSI(R)).

  • Support the Digitising Social Care (DiSC) Programme mandate to accelerate the adoption of digital social care records, sensor based falls prevention and detection technologies and piloting other care technology to build an evidence base for future scaling.

  • Work with the CQC registered adult social care providers in South East London (care homes and domiciliary care) to implement an IG Framework and appropriate Data Protection documentation for the adoption of a Digital Social Care Record (DSCR) by March 2024.
  • Work with the CQC registered adult social care providers in South East London (care homes and domiciliary care) to implement an IG Framework and appropriate Data Protection documentation for the adoption of sensor-based falls prevention and detection technologies.
  • Support with the improvement of data sharing so that commissioners are able to draw on timely and accurate data to inform commissioning and understand the needs and requirements of their local populations.
  • Work closely with the South East London Digital Integration Support and Liaison Officers (DISLOs) to support the adult social care providers with the completion of the annual NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit submission.
  • Build strong relationships and collaboration working effectively with colleagues, CQC registered adult social care providers in South East London (care homes and domiciliary care) and ICS organisations to provide complex data protection advice and guidance in line with current local and national guidance.
