An
exciting opportunity has arisen in West Yorkshire ICB - Kirklees for the post
of a Band 8a CHC Clinical Lead Mental Health, Learning Disability and
Neurodiversity.
As
Clinical Lead you will play a crucial role in our mission to improve health
and care services for the community. Tasked with providing clinical
leadership and management of Continuing Healthcare (CHC) including leading
the day-to-day clinical service; verification of outcome decisions;
individual case management, scheduling support, complaint responses.
The
ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that professional standards
are maintained and CHC nurses meet and maintain professional registration
requirements, including mentoring, clinical supervision, and clinical
re-validation.
They
will also deputise for the Continuing Care Senior Business Manager as
required. The post is full time at 37.5hrs per week and will be based at
Norwich Union House in Huddersfield,
Flexible
working arrangements can be negotiated as West Yorkshire ICB - Kirklees
operates a flexible working policy.
Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for providing management and leadership,
and overseeing a clinical team in the delivery of NHS Continuing Healthcare
Service.

The post holder will retain a key senior clinical presence and function in
the team, ensuring that systems and processes are in place to maintain a high
level of clinical skill and competence to support effective and
evidence-based assessment and ensure decision making processes are in place
to support the equitable allocation of resources..

They will present in a way that maintains close working relationships in place
across Kirklees, particularly with Adult Social Care representatives from
Kirklees Council, and will be required to build and maintain close working
relationships with both Acute Hospital Providers in the Kirklees area, as
well as strong links with other NHS and independent sector providers across
the area, including South West Yorkshire NHS Partnership Foundation Trust.

Responsible for leading on recruitment and induction of new clinical staff.

Responsible for ensuring that professionals in the team meet and maintain
professional registration requirements, including mentoring, clinical
supervision, and clinical re-validation, including support to the AHP or
Social Workers in the team to achieve their specific registration
requirements and professional standards.

Funded Nursing Care. This will include the responsibility for the necessary
systems and processes for assessment, review, case management and eligibility
decision making and the delivery of Personal Health Budgets as standard.
Work with the Senior Clinical
Commissioning Managers for Mental Health and Learning Disability to ensure
that wider commissioning plans and projects support the effective delivery of
the CHC function.
Responsible for ensuring effective
case management, quality assurance and resource allocations are in place and
that clinical representation in those processes is robust and evidence
based.
Work with the Continuing Care
Senior Business Manager and Head of Service to ensure the Team has a clear
business plan for the delivery of the service with appropriate review and
action planning in place with ownership across the full team.
Ensure that all clinical policies
and procedures are in place and monitor implementation and adherence by the
clinical team, implementing development plans where required
Ensure effective and appropriate
use of delegated budgetary authority within the scope of the role, and that
other Team members with delegated authority meet the requirements in line
with the Resource Allocation guidance.
