Job summary

NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board (ICB) is a statutory NHS organisation responsible for developing a plan for meeting the health needs of our communities, managing the NHS budget, and arranging for the provision of joined up health services which improve the lives of people who live and work in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

By collaborating as an integrated care system (ICS) our health and care organisations can tackle complex challenges, including:

  • Improving the health of children and young people
  • Supporting people to stay well and independent
  • Acting sooner to help those with preventable conditions
  • Supporting those with long-term conditions or mental health issues
  • Caring for those with multiple needs as populations age

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of clinicians working to ensure that residents of Cornwall and Isles of Scilly receive high quality, safe, clinically effective care and support whilst positively experiencing care that is personal to their needs. Are you an experienced nurse or allied health professional with an enquiring agile mind? Are you looking to use your clinical experience to improve care to the population? Are you looking for a role that is diverse and challenging? If so, we would love to hear from you.

Please contact Lisa Nightingale, Head of Clinical Quality & Patient Safety Specialist on 07919892466 for further enquiries

Main duties of the job

The purpose of this role is to lead on quality for a range of workstreams within priorities and programmes of care for the Integrated Care Board (ICB) across the Integrated Care System (ICS) in relation to quality and safety including strategic quality management, operational quality management, patient safety, experience and effectiveness

The quality manager will ensure that quality and patient safety is considered and maintained throughout the lifecycle of all clinical transformation and commissioning projects relevant to their assigned area of work and clinical expertise. The post holder will also ensure the statutory quality functions of the ICB are upheld.

Advocating high quality care and challenging poor performance, the post holder will report on and convene multiagency reviews to facilitate implementation of quality improvements and opportunities for learning across the ICS.

Where the term quality is used this encompasses all aspects of patient safety, clinical effectiveness, patient experience and health inequalities
