Job summary

This role seeks to provide strategic oversight and effective representation for Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) across the Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care System. By linking in to other key clinical development areas, the role will seek to advocate and develop innovative solutions in supporting the AHP profession and ensure as a system we are more effective at recruiting and retaining AHPs across the system.

Main duties of the job

  • The role will provide strategic, professional leadership for all Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) in Hertfordshire and West Essex, acting as a point of contact on professional and system wide issues.
  • The postholder will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise to the ICS in relation to quality, safety, and operational delivery as well as matters of workforce development and equalities for the AHP profession.
  • The postholder will be accountable for the development and reporting on all areas for AHP's. These may be as required and directed by the ICS board and AHP council. However, the post holder will be expected to take a proactive stance in the considerations of these needs.
  • The post holder will have responsibility for the strategic and operational development of the ICS. The post holder will be accountable for the delivery and implementation of these plans throughout the wider health system including all partners within the ICB Plans to achieve the strategy will be underpinned by the delivery of short to medium term objectives.
  • Working in a matrix management style to foster, develop and maintain close working relations with other clinical group and leaders within the entire health economy including the NHS, third sector providers (where appropriate) and Local Authorities, the AHP lead post will maximise the AHP contribution to the entire health system throughout the East of England area

  • HCPC Registered or General Osteopathic Council AHP registration
  • Educated to master's level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area.

  • Demonstrated expertise in a Healthcare environment.
  • Significant management experience at senior level in the NHS or other public healthcare related industry
  • Proven Board level experience of leading and delivering complex change and strategy development programmes in a politically sensitive and complex environment.
