Job summary
From 1 April 2023, ICBs became responsible for the pharmaceutical, general ophthalmic and dental services under the terms of the Delegation Agreement with NHS England, in addition to general medical services which has previously been delegated.
The Hertfordshire and West Essex ICB are hosting the Pharmacy and Optometry team for the six ICBs in the East of England.
To ensure effective delivery of these delegated functions and our statutory responsibilities, the ICB has identified a need to recruit to existing vacancies within the primary care contracting team.
These roles are open to internal applicants only and provide an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team and to support the delivery of national and local ambitions, working with a variety of stakeholders.
Main duties of the job
As a Commissioning Support Admin, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service, supporting staff across the area to deliver the direct commissioning of primary care for the 6 ICBs in the East of England Region, as part of the Pharmacy and Optometry Contracting Function.
In particular, the post holder will be required to:
- Support the team in the processing and administration of the "Fitness" function relating to pharmaceutical contractors; including attending the Pharmaceutical Services Regulations Committee meetings, presenting non-complex reports and providing guidance and advice on related administration processes.
- Act as a point of contact for teams, liaising with contractors and stakeholders
- Create and maintain databases and spreadsheets.
- Organise meetings and undertake related tasks, such as preparing agendas and taking minutes.
- Attend and participate in team meetings, giving updates where appropriate.
- Run and collate reports, including those going to senior management and external stakeholders
- Provide cross cover, including for generic email inboxes, as and where required to support business continuity across the Pharmacy and Optometry Team
- Maintain and develop constructive relationships with a broad range of internal staff and external stakeholders
- Support teams in project management and participating in department events.
