Job summary
Do you
want to work with health and social care teams in delivering the best
pharmaceutical care to the people of Dorset?
We are a
small, friendly team who work closely with colleagues across the Integrated
Care System (ICS) to support safe, evidence based and cost effective medication
use for the people of Dorset. We work to reduce health inequalities and ensure
that everyone receives a high level of pharmaceutical care.
Pharmacy Technician roles at
NHS Dorset allow you to use your skills and knowledge in a different way; your
skills will be developed and used dynamically as you manage your own time and
workload to deliver on the workstreams and projects you are part of. We want
our team to be creative in their approach to this role and we encourage individuals
to think outside of the box.
We welcome applicants from all
pharmacy settings as we recognise the value from the experience and knowledge
different sectors provide. Our work reaches across the Integrated Care System
in Dorset, and we rely on the varied background of our team members to do this
successfully.
Our team works both from the office and at home in a
hybrid work pattern. Please get in touch if you have further questions on the
role and working arrangements.
Main duties of the job
We want to work with your
personal skill set and strengths to determine which workstreams you can support
and influence.
Duties may include:
- Facilitating communication and
learning across the Integrated Care System.
- You will
work as part of our team who provide specialist input into medicines pathways,
maintaining the Dorset Formulary and prescribing tools. Contributing to disease
specific workstreams, supporting the implementation of NICE TAs and other
national guidance. Providing key advice on medicines to colleagues across the
system.
- Interpreting prescribing
trends and analyse data to make positive changes to prescribing across Dorset, using
your own experience to understand why trends appear and how best to positively
challenge issues that are identified.
-
Supporting the Medicines Value team in developing and
implementing the Quality, Safety and Cost Effectiveness plans. You would be
working with colleagues within general practice to deliver this, listening to
feedback, reviewing progress and taking proactive steps to ensure targets are
met. By doing this, we have a positive impact on the local health economy.
