Job summary

NHS Somerset Integrated Care Board (ICB) is looking for candidates who are passionate about developing metrics to demonstrate benefits of transformational healthcare changes and can support the ICB on a full term basis. The postholder will be joining a small, enthusiastic Transformation Management Office working at the heart of the ICS to transform the healthcare of Somerset residents.

NHS Somerset ICB is responsible for commissioning health and care services for our 600,000 residents. We play a pivotal role in bringing organisations together to work as one integrated care system (ICS), for Somerset. An ICS is a partnership between the NHS, local council, voluntary services and other organisations working together to plan and deliver joined up services to improve the lives of people in our area.

The post holder will require strong analytical skills and be able to provide detailed data insights reports that inform metrics, strategic decisions and enhance priority programme effectiveness. By analysing and translating complex data into actionable outcomes, and monitoring benefits, the Data Analyst will play a key role in ensuring the success of transformation programmes in the Somerset System.

Main duties of the job

You will work directly with the Head of Transformation Management Office to support with the priority programmes data metrics and benefit realisation.

The key duties and responsibilities of the role include:

Delivery of timely, accurate reporting and information, adding intelligence and insight to data analysis including investigating deviations, trends, identifying areas of improvement, tracking benefits and key performance indicators and providing explanations to inform relevant Transformation Programme Managers, and other colleagues.

You will be expected to identify data quality issues with programme data, ensuring support to teams to improve data quality and lead on regular review of data processes and implement efficiencies where improvements are required. This may involve representing the team at a range of meetings including production and delivery of reports and associated briefings.

You will support the Transformation Management Office with data queries, analytical assistance and understanding of complex information, to include benefits realisation. You will also create and deliver reports and associated briefings, required by the team and wider system, in an understandable way for all audiences, including workforce colleagues and the public.

Develop a comprehensive reporting schedule which is consistent with the overall programme timetable, meeting the strategic direction of the programme.

Provide effective and robust high-quality information and analytical support, which is relevant, timely and proactive to relevant members of the Transformation Management Office and Programme Managers.

Design, develop and run routine management reports.

Support Transformation Management Office and Programme Managers in undertaking reporting and analysis of information for delivery of the transformation programmes.

Undertake, maintain and develop regular and ad hoc reports using a broad range of tools and techniques, and to provide detailed advice, support and guidance to Transformation Management Office and Programme Managers using specialist knowledge.

Support Transformation Management Office and Programme Managers in developing information for benefits realization and key performance indicators associated with each transformation programme.

Matrix work with other relevant teams/individuals across the ICB and the system to support the development of a system wide data strategy and associated workstreams to improve sharing of data and its applied use for intelligence and insight as a system approach.

Lead the ongoing identification and resolution of data quality issues with programme data, and support teams to improve data quality.

Support the Transformation Management Office with data queries, analytical assistance and understanding of complex information, to include benefits realisation.
