South Bristol Locality Development Manager

Job summary

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Locality Development Manager to join the South Bristol Locality Partnership Team on a fixed-term basis until 31st May 2026.

The ambition of the Locality Partnerships, currently hosted by Bristol North Somerset and South Gloucestershire's (BNSSG) Integrated Care Board (ICB) is to create a genuinely integrated service offer, with GPs, community services, social services, the voluntary sector and other partners working together to keep people healthy, well and independent in their own homes and communities.

The role is a hybrid role, with a mixture of home-based working, an expectation of ICB office days (usually once per week) and at BNSSG community and partner locations as required. Very occasional travel to other locations in the South-West e.g. Exeter/Taunton) will be required. The Bristol North Somerset & South Gloucestershire ICB office base is at, Floor 2, North Wing, 100 Temple Street, Bristol, BS1 6AG.

Main duties of the job

The advertised role presents an exciting opportunity for a positive, enthusiastic and suitably skilled manager to work as part of the South Bristol Locality Team, to support the delivery and development of the South Bristol Locality Partnership priorities, including our emerging approach to the National Neighbourhood Health Implementation Programme (NNHIP). You will be an integral part of developing and implementing the Locality's plans; engaging and building relationships with communities and stakeholders from across the healthcare, social care and voluntary sectors so a creative and proactive approach is essential.

We are looking for someone who can manage multiple work priorities, is able to work across professional groups and develop relationships that will enable you to excel in this role. You will be responsible for providing expert support to the Bristol Locality Director, developing plans, managing projects, and leading on specific areas of locality development.

You will need to be a highly organised individual with experience of leadership and bringing about changes in service delivery models with multiple stakeholders in a challenging, complex environment.

Working knowledge of the South Bristol population, its communities, partner organisations and key stakeholders would be advantageous

Supports the Locality Director and the wider team in maintaining strong local relationships and excellent engagement of the Membership and practices across the locality, including the management of Locality programmes and projects, Commissioning Forums, Locality Leadership Groups and other engagement events.

Contribute to the implementation of the Locality National Neighbourhood Health Implementation Programme

Works with vulnerable practices and develop practice resilience support systems and tools, building strong relationships with practices through localities to ensure good local intelligence and understanding.

Support the development and delivery of Primary Care Networks as a key component of the GP Contract and NHS Long Term Plan, working closely with Locality Provider Boards, healthcare providers and the voluntary sector.

Engages with fellow Locality Development Managers across BNSSG to support the delivery of a high quality, consistent approach to locality development and the implementation of the commissioning context in line with the BNSSG ICB vision, aims and objectives

Work closely with the primary care development team to implement the BNSSG primary care strategy in the locality and promote resilient sustainable primary care. This will include working with the primary care development team on the implementation of new care models, delivery of workforce initiatives and implementation of the BNSSG resilience and quality improvement programmes.
