Deputy Designated Professional for All-Age Safeguarding

The Integrated Care Board (ICB) is recruiting a Deputy Designated Professional for All-Age Safeguarding to support the statutory Designated Adults and Designated Children's roles within the team. This role is aimed at those wanting to progress in a career in safeguarding. The postholder will work alongside other deputy roles within the team. We recently advertised for a 0.8 WTE, this post is a full time post (1 WTE).

The contracted work base for this post is located at Temple Street, Bristol. The ICB supports hybrid working however in order to deliver the functions of the services, flexibility and agility are required by the post holder to deliver all aspects of this role. Therefore the post holder must be able to commit to being available to meet in person at short notice. This may include a variety of locations such as being in the office or in the BNSSG locality to support the delivery of the requirements of the role and ICB. The ICB retains the right to request that staff work from any ICB approved location during their contracted hours within the BNSSG ICB locality at the manager's discretion.

The interviews are scheduled to take place in person on Tuesday 4thNovember and/or Wednesday 5th November 2025 in Bristol.

Main duties of the job

This role is to support place based arrangements and therefore is aligned to a locality, although there is likely to be rotation in the team at some point in 2026.

The postholder will be exposed to working at a strategic level within the BNSSG system, closely supported by the Designated statutory roles for Children and Adults. As it is an all-age role, the postholder will also be encouraged to attend training events to upskill in any areas that they are not familiar with as it is recognised that practitioners may have particular expertise in either children's or adult's safeguarding.

This role will offer coaching and managerial support to the Named and Specialist Practitioners within the ICB Safeguarding Team, including providing expert safeguarding advice when necessary, therefore previous managerial experience is vital.
