The Integrated Care Board (ICB) is recruiting a Deputy Designated Professional for All-Age Safeguarding to support the statutory Designated Adults and Designated Children's roles within the team. This is a fairly new role in the ICB and is aimed at those wanting to progress in a career in safeguarding. The postholder will work alongside three other deputy roles within the team.
The contracted work base for this post is located at Temple Street, Bristol. The ICB supports hybrid working however in order to deliver the functions of the services, flexibility and agility are required by the post holder to deliver all aspects of this role. Therefore, the post holder must be able to commit to being available to meet in person at short notice. This may include a variety of locations such as being in the office or in the BNSSG locality to support the delivery of the requirements of the role and ICB. The ICB retains the right to request that staff work from any ICB approved location during their contracted hours within the BNSSG ICB locality at the managers discretion
This is a part time role for 30 hours per week, interviews will take place on Wednesday 1st October 2025 in person at our Bristol office.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be exposed to working at a strategic level within the BNSSG system, closely supported by the Designated statutory roles for Children and Adults. As it is an all-age role, the postholder will also be encouraged to attend training events to upskill in any areas that they are not familiar with as it is recognised that practitioners may have particular expertise in either children's or adult's safeguarding. For this post it is desirable to recruit an individual with a strong evidence of safeguarding adults expertise.
This role will offer coaching and managerial support to the Named and Specialist Practitioners within the ICB Safeguarding Team, including providing expert safeguarding advice when necessary, therefore previous managerial experience is vital.
This role is to support place based arrangements and therefore is aligned to a locality, currently North Somerset although there is likely to be rotation in the team at some point in 2026.
