Project Coordinator - Great Western Secure Data Environment
This job is now closed
Job summary
This post offers the chance to influence delivery of a transformational, data sharing and analytics platform. National guidance advises high-performing Integrated Care Systems (ICS) to develop an ICS-wide approach to sharing information to realise the benefits of integrated care including health improvement, reduced health inequalities and more efficient commissioning.
The Data Saves Lives Strategy sets out a commitment for the NHS Secure Data Environment (SDE) network to be the default way to access health and social care data for research. This will be achieved through a network of sub-regional SDEs with rich local and multi-modal data (e.g. images alongside numerical data).
Secure Data Environments (SDE) allow an accredited user to log into a portal to view and analyse data within a virtual environment. These environments pull data from a secure storage container, but only allow the user to see data for their specific project.
SDEs are expected to enhance research by enabling safe, secure access to larger, richer datasets, thereby also improving health outcomes by better understanding the challenges our populations face, and what interventions can create the most impact.
