Main duties of the job

The Technical Architect will be part of an integrated transformation and digital team, working alongside design, change and User Experience (UX) experts to create effective digital infrastructure and services.

The ICB Technical Architect, will be responsible for overseeing and guiding development of technical requirements, standards and design of the digital and data components of service transformation.

Develop Technical Strategies: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and objectives, and translate them into comprehensive technical strategies for developing digital and data architecture. Create roadmaps and digital architectural designs that support the BNSSG Digital Strategy and long-term vision of the ICB and integrated care system.

Architectural Design: Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure technical solutions that meet business and regulatory requirements. Define and support core architecture standards to ensure consistency and coherence across projects. This includes supporting the development of a Technical Architecture (TA) modelling approach that will integrate data and digital processes with wider human and operational processes

Technical Oversight: Provide technical leadership and guidance to teams to proactively identify and resolve technical issues and risks.

Technology Evaluation: Assess the viability and suitability of emerging technologies, tools, and platforms. Conduct research and provide recommendations on the adoption of new technologies, as well as upgrades or replacements to existing systems. Support the evaluation and contract management of system wide solutions.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate with system and regional wide teams, to ensure alignment and proper integration of technical components. Provide guidance and support to teams on best practices, and technical implementation.

Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in technology architecture. Actively participate in knowledge-sharing initiatives and promote a culture of ongoing learning and improvement within the ICB.

Knowledge, Training and Expereince

Essential

  • Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience working at senior level in relevant area in technical architecture, systems design software development or related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of specialist areas acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to masters level equivalent
  • Proven experience in technical architecture, systems design, and software development.
  • Solid understanding of system integration, distributed systems, and cloud-based architectures. Expertise in designing and implementing enterprise-level solutions, using technologies such as Java, .NET, Python, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of database technologies, web services, and API design.
  • Experience working with agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • An understanding of the background to and aims of current health and social care policy and appreciate the implications of this on digital development
