The position is a flexible bank contract. You let us know when you can work, and we will agree a working plan with you. Full support and training will be given.

Main duties of the job

The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism is named after Oliver McGowan, whose death highlighted the need for health and social care staff to have better skills, knowledge and understanding of the needs of autistic people and those with a learning disability. In July 2022, the Health and Care Act introduced a requirement for health and social care employees to receive training on learning disabilities and autism - with the Oliver McGowan training being the preferred route.

This is an amazing opportunity to influence how care is delivered by providing health and social care staff with the knowledge and skills they need to make a difference.

Our first training team are already in place, with training sessions due to start in October 2023. You will be joining a friendly, supportive and dedicated team who are passionate about making a difference for people with learning disabilities and autistic people. We hope you will join us!

We know from experience that different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds create a stronger, more creative workplace that helps us to deliver the best services. We welcome applications which represent the rich diversity of our community; from people of all ages, disabled people, all genders, people from ethnic minority groups, LGBTQ+ people, people with diverse gender identity and expression, people from all religions and beliefs and other diverse characteristics, and we have processes in place to ensure that all applications are treated fairly and consistently at every stage of the recruitment process.
