Job summary

  • The Business Intelligence function is responsible for providing business intelligence relating to the whole business, in the context of activity, cost, quality and performance data. It stores and presents information in a consistent, unified way, ensuring the organisation is working from one version of truth. This role will provide expert high quality business intelligence service support and will work in a matrix style across the Business Intelligence Team to support programmes of work that run across all areas.
  • We're looking to recruit a person who can produce analysis and reports that demonstrate clearly and concisely the answers, findings and position of the organisation using appropriate and effective data visualisation; complemented with insightful commentary, which is then useful and progressive for the organisation's business. This will require attention to detail, strong relationships with colleagues and curiosity to understand the problem, with a developing knowledge of the subject to respond in context and fulfil the information need.
  • If you would like to discuss the role informally then please contact Gary Dawes, BI Manager - Performance.

Main duties of the job

  • Undertake data analysis using appropriate and reliable methods such as SQL, Excel and Power BI.
  • Use a range of presentational skills, including Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI in the production and dissemination of analyses to ensure appropriate and effective dissemination of intelligence and insight.
  • Produce and develop reporting to effectively enable the management of performance across the organisation, in particular the production of dashboards, historic trends, future predictions and RAG ratings to feed into committee and board reporting, and reporting for performance management and improvement meetings. This will include cross system groups.
