Clinical Lead - Named GP Safeguarding Children

Job summary

We are currently looking for aSurrey Wide ICB Named GP for Adult and Children for 3 PAs per week. This is a challenging post that offers the opportunity to join the Surrey Wide ICB Safeguarding Team which incorporates Surrey Wide ICB Adult and Children Safeguarding,Child Death Review and Looked After Children teams.

The post holder will take a lead role in statutory and learning review processes, working closely with the ICB Designated GP for Adult and Children. By contributing to these adult and children review processes on behalf of the Surrey Safeguarding Adults Board and Safeguarding Children's Partnership. Other key duties include designing and supporting the delivery of level 3 safeguarding training to clinical staff working in Surrey GP practices, and providing safeguarding support and advice as needed.

The post holder will work as a key member of the Surrey Wide ICB Safeguarding Team to support the Surrey ICBs and Surrey SafeguardingAdults Boardand Safeguarding Children Partnershipin meeting their statutory duties as detailed in Working Together to Safeguard Children Statutory and Operational Guidance: England (HM 2023) and Care Act (2014/15), supporting the continual improvement and development of the multi-agency partnerships and thesafeguarding adult and children's agenda.

Main duties of the job

o Provide safeguarding leadership across General Practice in Surrey

o To deputise for the ICB Associate Director Safeguarding as required

o Work with the Surrey Wide ICB Designated GP to provide support, advice and safeguarding supervision to staff working within General Practice

o Act as a source of professional advice in relation to General Practice and commissioning safeguarding arrangements and processes to other service providers and professionals

o Advice on, promote, influence and develop relevant training to ensure that the training needs of Clinical staff within general practice are addressed; this may involve direct involvement in training delivery or quality assurance for training

o Provide skilled and expert professional involvement in safeguarding processes, in line with Surrey Safeguarding Children Partnership and Surrey Safeguarding Adults Board procedures, local professional bodies' procedures and any national guidance and legislation

o Provide specialist GP opinion for learning from reviews including safeguarding children and adult related serious incidents; Interagency Reviews, Partnership Reviews, Local Safeguarding Children Reviews, Safeguarding Adult Reviews, Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews.

o Present in both verbal and written form, sensitive and highly complex information to a range of internal and external stakeholder groups both in person and virtually.
