Job summary

Main duties of the job

These will include:

Raise the profile of unpaid carers across Surrey being a key contact for GP practices and Primary Care Network ManagersSupport and promote the GP Carer Personal Health Budget programmeSupport Primary Care to identify carers of all ages, ensuring that staff know the support offer for unpaid carers in SurreyEncourage and support GP practices to obtain the RCGP Veteran Friendly accreditationDeliver carer awareness training to staff within practices and Primary Care NetworksAttend and assist with chairing responsibilities in the Staff Unpaid Carers NetworkPromotion and support the participation in the GP Carer Quality Marker returns

  • Educated to NVQ4/Diploma or equivalent experience of working in a relevant area

  • Experience in organising and delivering training
  • Track record of engaging and working with a range of stakeholders, including health o Experience of operating in politically sensitive environment o Experience of managing risks and issues A/I 6 and social care providers, and community specialist groups
  • Administrative experience

Knowledge and skills

  • Good interpersonal and networking skills
  • Knowledge of key issues affecting carers
  • Good presentation skills to a range of audiences
  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential data and to recognise the need for confidentiality
