Job summary
The primary responsibility of the Planning and Outcomes Officer is to support the planning and outcomes team in achieving its objectives across the ICB and ICS. This role is crucial for developing expertise in a wide range of health and care data, insights, and performance analytics, and effectively extracting, interpreting, and recording this information for team access and use. Additionally, the role is essential in producing and providing regular reports to senior managers across the ICB and NEL.
Main duties of the job
- Support the planning and outcomes team to deliver strategic insights and analytics to inform key transformation programmes, performance improvements and actions to improve health and care outcomes for NEL residents.
- Support and inform the targeting of resources, monitoring, implementation and evaluation of the tasks/projects by providing high-quality support including complex information and analysis, communications and stakeholder management.
- Be a key member of the team as well as supporting effective communication and stakeholder management, both internally and externally.

About us
This role is responsible for improvement at a system level encompassing Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, Newham, and Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge and City & Hackney boroughs and the services that reside within the boroughs. Transformation projects will be agreed from a range of areas including: Community services, children services, learning disabilities, mental health, and acute, urgent care and primary care services.

- To establish and engender close and effective working relationships with all partners across the NEL and Places.
- To support transformation projects and provide a dynamic performance perspective to drive transformation and decision making at borough level.
- Supporting the Senior Performance & Outcomes Managers in conjunction with other analytical teams to provide analysis that supports strategy and priority setting, utilising benchmarking and trends.
- Providing performance intelligence by undertaking detailed analysis of performance, describing patterns and variations over time with respect to both national and local performance indicators and other performance information.
- To develop and provide internal and external performance reports as required in line with emerging outcomes framework and be able to explain the analysis in a way that is both understandable and credible.
- Support the Senior Planning & Outcomes Managers to work with partners across the primary, community and acute commissioning teams to ensure services are as effective as possible and that patients can be safely and appropriately managed in acute and non-acute settings.
- To ensure that all projects are undertaken in line with PMO best practice project management systems and processes.
- To be responsible for the identification of risks relating to the area of work.
- Develop regular performance reports identifying key trends and variances in performance across all contracts.
