Job summary

The London Healthy Urban Development Unit Team is hosted by NEL ICB on behalf of the five London Integrated care Boards. It provides specialist town planning services to the Integrated Care Boards across London.

We are looking for a Planning Policy and Project Officer to focus on working across North Centre London engaging with the local boroughs and all parts of the NHS. Responding to planning applications and local plan consultations will be a central part of the role as well as assessing the planning opportunities and challenges and priorities for different 'places'. This post is funded for 2 years by the North Central London Integrated Care Board.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level, ideally have a degree or experience in town planning or a related policy field. Understanding of the development management and plan-making process and the relationship to supporting health and wellbeing would be an advantage as would experience of the NHS. Good communication skills are important to effectively engage with key partners at a strategic and local level.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will:o Be responsible for the delivery of identified workstreams on town planning and development and its interrelationship with health and health infrastructure planning supporting the Unit to become a high-quality resource to the NHS in Londono Support effective engagement between Integrated Care Boards and local authorities by providing advice and assistance in line with identified priorities.o Monitor and respond to Local Plans with a view to securing and modernising healthcare facilities to meet the needs of new and existing communities, and to promote healthy urban planning.o Monitor large planning proposals and advise the ICB and other NHS organisations to ensure effective, timely engagement in the development process.o Maintain and develop appropriate monitoring and information systems, models and other tools to support the work programme.o Collate, analyse and illustrate data using GIS and other software.o Carry out research into all aspects of healthy urban planning.o Maintain and develop appropriate communication tools and material to ensure information, analysis and advice stakeholders.
