Job summary

We are recruiting for a Graduate Analyst to join our Intelligence & Insights team.

This is an opportunity for a recent graduate from a Health Informatics, Health Economics/Econometrics, Data Science or Computer Science background who is looking to start a career in healthcare analytics. This role provides an opportunity to develop with the NHS healthcare analytics sector through interesting and challenging work assignments supported by training and development.

You will report to a Senior Analyst and will support the delivery of analytics, business intelligence reporting and insights generation to support Northeast London (NEL) ICB. They will also help to develop and advance the Population Health Management agenda within the ICB.

Using our linked, rich repository of data, you will develop credible statistical and economic analysis applied to a variety of themes, using an evolving range of data analysis tools and techniques. You will explore and visualise data to present information in a meaningful and engaging way to a range of technical and non-technical audiences. You will be a confident communicator, using a range of methods to ensure the work of the team has a real impact and delivers actionable insights.

As one of several Analyst, you will undertake reporting and analysis of information that will support delivery of Placed based and Population Health Management initiatives and support service commissioning, service transformation, contract and performance management.

Main duties of the job

  • Excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills, with evidence of having been exposed to a range of quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • High technical aptitude with experience using Microsoft Excel, R or Python to perform data analysis
  • The ability to solve problems arising from poor data quality and develop informative evidenced-based outputs.
  • Ability to convey complex information such as technical concepts to a non-technical audience through a range of communicating avenues
  • The ability to work on their own initiative, and managing own workload, working to tight and often changing timescales
  • An academic background or interest in economics, data science, statistics, life sciences, public health, social sciences or public services policy & management.

Other desirable skills for this role would be:

Experience using other analytic tools (e.g. SQL, Python, R, SPSS, SAS, STATA, Power BI, Tableau, GIS tools).

Experience conducting advanced analytics such as regression analysis or machine learning.

Understand the importance and application of good data and information governance.
