Interim Transformation Clinical Director (Devon)
NHS Devon Integrated Care Board (ICB) is seeking an outstanding Interim Transformational Clinical Director to provide senior clinical leadership across Devon's NHS system during a critical turnaround period.
The postholder will support the delivery of Devon's recovery programme for 2026/27 and help shape an affordable and sustainable three-year service offer.
Reporting directly to the Director of Transformation you will be working closely with PwC, ICB leaders and Trust clinical executives, this role will provide visible clinical leadership and act as a conduit to embed transformation after the consultancy programme concludes.
Hybrid working - Exeter or Bodmin base (travel across Devon required). Start date of 1st April 2026 (earlier start in March preferred)
Main duties of the job
The postholder will:
- provide senior clinical leadership across Devon's transformation programme
- lead clinically-led service redesign and pathway transformation across the system
- support development of productive and affordable service models over the next three years
- drive reduction in unwarranted clinical variation and improvement in outcomes
- ensure transformation is grounded in clinical evidence, safety and quality improvement principles
- champion innovation, digital transformation and new models of care
- build clinical engagement and ownership across Trusts, primary care and system partners
- support system decision-making, governance assurance and business case development
