Job summary

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated registered health or social care professional to join our Quality Assurance Team, to support the ICB with its legal functions regarding Court of Protection and deprivation of Liberties safeguards work. This post offers a unique role that will utilise your extensive skills and knowledge surrounding the legal frameworks within which we work and be well regarded in your career development. The role will require regular liaison with solicitors, case-managers, and senior decision-makers to support the court process where the CCG has a statutory responsibility in relation to Adults Continuing Healthcare, Children's Continuing care, s117, or Individual Patient Placement arrangements.

You will be part of an established team that prides itself on supporting each other and our system partners. There will always be someone to talk through complex situations with and this ensures we get the very best results for the people we support.

You should have a keen interest in health and social care law and be able to evidence that your practice reflects the principles of making applications of legal frameworks as personalised as they can be.

Main duties of the job

Key tasks include:

  • Coordination of the legal process and ensuring court ordered timescales are adhered to.
  • Writing statements and reports for court
  • Representing the organisation in court to give evidence as a party to the proceedings
  • Chairing Best Interest meetings where appropriate, as well as convening and chairing core group meetings
  • Organising training events for the team in subject matter such as application of the Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty processes
  • Advocating for individuals and their Human Rights in wider forums and meetings across the system to embed best practice

  • Professional qualification and current registration within Health or Social Care.
