Job summary
This temporary role as the Designated Clinical
Officer( DCO) is to cover a secondment and supports the North East and North Cumbria ICB meet their statutory duties for
children and young people (CYP) with special educational needs and disability
(SEND) aged 0-25 years, in line with the Children and Families Act
2014.
We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and experienced clinical leader (
qualified nurse or allied health professional) to join our friendly and
motivated team in County Durham.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work closely with parent carer forums, system partners across health, education and local authorities. You will have excellent leadership, communication and managerial skills and will be working in a supportive, compassionate and dynamic environment. The post is based in Durham and is for 30 hours and a 9 month duration.Main duties of the jobThe candidate will have extensive knowledge of children and young peoples health services and the current SEND agenda.They will understand the legislative drivers that supports the operational delivery and improvements across a complex health economy to improve children and young peoples outcomes and prepare them for adulthood.The candidate will work effectively across the partnership and collaborate with health partners, parent/carer forums, education and the Local Authority.
