An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 Clinical Quality Improvement Manager to work with the Nursing and Quality Team at North Cumbria Place ICB, to deliver a programme of quality improvement and assurance across a range of services commissioned by the ICB. Main duties of the job

The Clinical Quality Improvement manager will be a key member of the Nursing and Quality Team and the wider North Cumbria Place teams. The post holder will have responsibility for the delivery of a range of quality improvement and assurances programmes of work.

Job responsibilities

The Clinical Quality Manager will lead on the development and delivery of a continual quality improvement plan across the local Health and Care system, with a focus on Infection Prevention, to improve the quality and safety for our population. This plan will be based on local intelligence and regional direction. The post holder will also work with the Nursing and Quality Team to deliver the quality assurance processes across all commissioned care, under the leadership of the Patient Safety Lead.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver a programme of quality improvement priorities, across the health and care system, based on local intelligence and regional direction

Review Quality Assurance Processes and report on these under the leadership of the Patient Safety Lead

Analysis quality information to support the delivery of high quality/safe care throughout all commissioned services. This will include both NHS and non-NHS providers.

Produce briefings, reports and correspondence

Actively involve patients in their own care and promote patients to be involved in their own safety. Listen to patients and consider all issues from a patient perspective

Promote and support the effective use of data, information, knowledge and technology to continually improve, inform and support a portfolio of projects, services, and initiatives in order to improve the quality and safety of our population.

Work collaboratively with the provider organisations, stakeholders, co -commissioners and service users to meet organisational and system needs and focus on transformation, sustainability and improvement

Lead on Infection Prevention and Control agenda: - provide information, analysis and reporting - provide outbreak control support to care homes and represent ICB at outbreak management meetings. - develop and deliver the IPC strategy North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board Job Description and Person Specification

Persuade partners multi-agency leads/senior managers and senior clinicians of the importance of the initiative/programme, to negotiate with and motivate staff on delivery.

Engage with patient and staff groups across partner agencies to ensure patient and staff engagement is at the heart of transformation.

Provide an effective interface with both internal and external colleagues, stakeholders, partners, and commissioners ensuring a positive image of the ICB.

Analytical and Judgement Skills

Collaborating with and supporting senior managers and lead clinicians to define, design and deliver their improvement programmes, involving the analysis of often complex or conflicting facts/situations, requiring interpretation and comparison of a range of options.

Building quality programme considering all available information and scheduling work to maximise synergies and prevent conflicts.

Making decisions on a range of complex/highly complex quality issues, providing data and interpretation on national or local guidance.

Ensure up-to- date quality and Health Care Acquired Infections data is available and have full understanding of what the data means in terms of impact on patient safety.

Promote quality improvement through the development of performance dashboards and other information tools using experience and advanced knowledge to highlight any key quality issues.

Audit process understanding, and to participate in internal and external audits occasionally

Organising and managing the scheduling and agendas of meetings between agencies/partners
