Main duties of the job
We are seeking a dynamic Corporate Governance Support Officer to work as part of the ICB Corporate Governance Team with responsibility for the provision and co-ordination of a high-quality corporate governance support service that underpins the efficient running of the corporate governance committee structure.
The post holder will support the Corporate Governance Team to deliver a high-quality corporate governance service, which supports fulfilment of the ICB's statutory duties, encompassing the full governance meeting structure and business cycles of the ICB.

The ICB is responsible for ensuring that high quality and safe health services are accessible to all of our communities. It has a wide range of functions, including; promoting integration of health and care services, improving peoples health and well-being, reducing health inequalities.
With a £6.6 billion budget and a workforce of 170,000 people across the North East and North Cumbria. As well as strategic functions, ICB staff also work at place level with local health and wellbeing boards in each of our 14 local authority areas. These teams also work alongside our 67 primary care networks which are groups of local GP practices, social care teams and other community- based area providers.
The ICB works with our Provider Collaborative too, this includes the 11 NHS Foundation Trusts in the region, to deliver our shared priorities.

The post holder will be responsible for the following:
managing the corporate governance meeting and business cycles across the ICB places, including ICB committees and place subcommittees as appropriate. This requires arranging complex schedules of dates and managing the flow of agenda items through the governance structure is synchronised in a timely, effective manner. Ensuring that all terms of reference are adhered to, conflicts of interest are managed appropriately and that meetings are quorate to enable robust decision making.
be responsible for the administrative support of the corporate governance meetings, ensuring appropriate distribution of papers and providing advice to report authors about deadlines and conflicts of interest.
be required to work autonomously within corporate governance guidelines and policies, advising others about their implementation for the areas within their responsibility.
undertake a portfolio of work from the duties and responsibilities determined by the Corporate Governance Manager and reflecting ICB priorities.
The ability to meet deadlines using a variety of resources, at times under pressure, will also be key to your success in this role.
