An exciting new opportunity is now available at NHS South Yorkshire ICB here in Rotherham Place.
This post is a key operational role at Rotherham Place in the delivery of both the Safeguarding Adults agenda and Clinical Quality agenda for the ICB.
Working closely with the teams at the ICB here at Rotherham Place, you will ensure that all principles of the Safeguarding Adults agenda are operationally delivered and embedded internally at Rotherham Place. In addition to this, you will also be involved within ongoing Clinical Quality and Patient Safety focused improvement and assurance work as identified by the Head of Quality.
The successful applicant will be highly visible and engaging, passionate, determined, an agent of positive change and someone with a proven track record. You will have extensive Safeguarding Adults knowledge and experience as well as extensive experience and knowledge in quality improvement and the patient safety agenda.

Main duties of the job
The role for this post holder will encompass two main areas:
1 Act as an operational lead within South Yorkshire ICB at Rotherham Place for Safeguarding Adults
and
2 Participate within and operationally support the patient safety and clinical quality agenda within South Yorkshire ICB at Rotherham Place, as well as support the quality improvement agenda as and where required

Deputising (as and when required) for the Deputy Designated Professional for Safeguarding Adults at Rotherham Place in relation to appropriate meetings, forums, working groups, etc regarding the Safeguarding Adults agenda and the ICBs statutory responsibilities.
Participating, involvement and appropriately leading within relevant meetings, forums, working groups, etc specifically in relation to the Safeguarding Adults agenda locally at the ICB at Rotherham Place, within the NHS South Yorkshire ICB collective and within the wider ICS, locally with other partner agencies and care providers and in other appropriate networks (i.e Rotherham Safeguarding Adults Board, CHANNEL panel, MARAC, MAPPA, etc).
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners in the ongoing continuous development of an integrated approach to promoting and embedding Safeguarding and a patient safety culture across the whole health economy and for all services commissioned by NHS South Yorkshire ICB.
Develop strong, collaborative working relationships with other Safeguarding colleagues within NHS South Yorkshire ICB at our other places in Barnsley, Doncaster and Sheffield.
Provide visible and proactive operational Safeguarding Adults leadership, support and specialist Safeguarding Adults advice and guidance to the CHC Team, S117 Team and other teams (appropriately identified) at Rotherham Place.

Provide specialist advice and support to ICB teams at Rotherham Place (and to other appropriate teams) in relation to Safeguarding Adults concerns and the wider Safeguarding agenda, where information may be highly sensitive, highly complex and conflicting or contentious, understanding when there is a potential need to escalate to senior colleagues.
Assessment and monitoring of the financial impact of activity and reporting any identified organisational risk and / or resource implications.
Responsibility for monitoring Safeguarding Adults activity and providing monthly performance reports to the Deputy Designated Professional for Safeguarding Adults at Rotherham Place.
Monitoring and reporting on performance matrices for internal and external audit and assurance purposes.
Performing regular audits of practice in relation to Safeguarding Adults, make recommendations for remedial actions and develop, implement, and evaluate action plans.
Perform any required and audits and create reports in relation to the Patient Safety and Clinical Quality agenda identified by the Head of Quality, and support the development and, where appropriate, implementation of quality improvements.
Planning and organisation
Ensuring that where required, Safeguarding Adults concerns are reported to the Local Authority by the CHC Team, S117 Team and other teams within the ICB.
Obtaining assurance, and where required evidence, that Safeguarding Adults concerns have been acted upon appropriately.
With CHC colleagues and other teams within Rotherham Place and other associated teams, encourage and promote Professional Curiosity and the principle of Making Safeguarding Personal being embedded in day-to-day practice.

Ensuring the smooth operational implementation of any changes (current and future) in ICB policy and strategic goals or in legislation regarding the Safeguarding Adults agenda and working alongside partner agencies and providers.
Lead on any identified key areas of quality improvement and service improvement within the patient safety and clinical quality agendas.
