Regular travel across South Yorkshire (SY) including bases across ICB SY,
Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation trust sites, SY GP
practices and hybrid working from home.
We
have an exciting opportunity for a Pre-registration trainee Pharmacy Technician
to join us at South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (SY ICB) starting with us
in February 2025. You will be working in GP practices and hospital settings
across South Yorkshire undertaking a formal professional qualification whilst
learning and earning on the job. Travel to various locations across South
Yorkshire will be integral to this role.
We
need candidates who are interested in developing a career in pharmacy, with a
view to becoming professionally registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the
General Pharmaceutical Council. You will be registered with our training
provider Bradford College who will provide a blended approach of live online lessons
and face to face learning one day a week and additional study time is provided
to support you in order for you to gain your Pharmacy Technician (Integrated)
BTEC Level 3 Diploma.
Main duties of the job
You
MUST have five GCSEs at grade C/4 (or above) including Maths, English, and
Science. An NVQ 2/3 may count towards the fourth or fifth GCSE requirement.
Previous experience in Pharmacy or Healthcare would be desirable but not
essential for this post.
You will need
to be enthusiastic, self motivated and hard working and have good
organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
The
apprenticeship will involve a mix of study and on the job training, with
rotations across South Yorkshire GP practices and Doncaster & Bassetlaw
Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where you will gain practical
experience in dispensing, procurement and ward services. You will also be
working alongside SY ICB medicines optimisation team members helping us to
promote the safe, cost effective and sustainable use of medicines, reducing
health inequalities, and improving the health of the people of South Yorkshire.
